The Evening Prayer

The Evening Prayer
Down the street boisterous children ran
With bow and arrow, sword and gun
In dead sleep, when my awareness crossed
I remembered my childhood, forever lost
And see
The glowing goddess of light
The churning waters’s fight
Those dying moments of matter
In every, unique living thing
In my youth I searched the one last truth
But could not see our only existent proof
Friends opened a chest of retrospection
Future and adulthood were my protection
And see
The glowing goddess of light
The churning waters’s fight
Those dying moments of matter
In every, unique living thing

Bar Moon

|

Bar Moon
I saw the moon’s abundance
In its anthrazite-coloured wideness
And the becalming words of that woman
Seemed to be immaculate
Flowing out of her lips
Red painted and accurate
She did honestly speak to me
And that truthful loveliness
Made her figure perfect and confident
Then the strength of the moon so bare
Did brighten playfully her hair
A thousand times she exposed
Her two-faced appeasements
And shortly afterwards the caressing hand
Of a stranger she named ‘Hurt’
Vanished under her ruffled skirt
Chorus:
The depravity
Ruled under a veil of secrecy
Truthfulness
Was not common courtesy

Winter Heart

Winter Heart
Through this old and wintry town
To the frozen pond we went down
Among silent and leafless trees
Our steaming breath seemed to freeze
The pond’s sheet of ice kept days gone by
I remembered my journey and heard a sigh
Your happy smile fought the cold for a while
Under this frozen pond dead leaves and things beyond
I closed my eyes and felt your warming hand
We were sliding through this frozen land
Chorus:
My little girl
Unburdened in life’s swirl
I felt my winter heart
Soon the frost would take part

The Castle's Hill

|

The Castle’s Hill
A dry and wooded land
A shadow on bony knees
And from the outset
He moves unseen like a breeze
A creeping barrage raises
He does perfectly rule
And heat will wipe out
Every goddamn living fool
And on the calm blue sea
The song of the Sirens reminds
He’s a gambling creature
A gentle waft that blinds
Oppressive desert silence
Unwanted illusions lead astray
Bare feet will carry us to
The mouth of the beast of prey
Under the castle’s hill
He holds us unborn
We have to stand alone
When He receives us age-worn

Northern Shore

Northern Shore
A stormy morning on a northern shore
And we listen to the song of the waves
Sea wrack, shells and disease we smell
Her face is burning, she takes farewell
The sea’s raging sings a minor scale
We find rotten bags and dented bottles
Torn letterings and crabs in between
And confess ourselves guilty and obscene
She rescues a ladybird and walks away in
Her windblown, flapping, flowered dress
We follow her and leave this place
We are humans, yes, we lost our face

Cold War Child

Cold War Child
Along the course of the water
I felt mum’s secure hand on my shoulder
I felt free like the border river
Attending school made me shiver
Teachers thaught the Western danger
The West did doubt the Eastern Stranger
1983 raised atomic bomb-fears
I recognized and told it in tears
I was a black dressed Zorro
With water guns and a rocking horse
I did conquer the open sea
A treasure hunter to be once free
Good teachers wanted me to use
A pioneer dress I hoped to lose
'My name is Huck Finn.', I said,
'I reclaim my sugar hogshead.'
Then I saw the fall of the Berlin wall
Family ties, envy ruined them all
They succumbed the suggested need
It was a new plant of strong seed
Grandma died, Huck's hogshead did close
My shelter was the music I began to compose
Chorus:
Cold War child
There is no reason to hide
Cold War child
Show your confidence
And your pride

Barriers Of Fear

Barriers Of Fear
The end of the day came along and
We’re waiting for us deep in the night
The river whispered to our silence
I felt my trembling hands
Craving for those unknown lands
Autumn sky, the air was clear
I felt your hair fluttering around me
Moments where I possessed your eyes
A bygone scent returning
Came with a sorrowful yearning
Uneasy feet made prints and shadows
Early morning mist
And then we kissed
Chorus:
We would not be the first ones
Friendship destroyed by love
A silent shout for a way out
Suffocating pain, no doubt
For Ines

The Train

|

The Train
A train was circling through
The desert and its dryness
It was not an ordinary train
Rushing while solitude did chain
The landscape rarely changed within
Those sands of the mouldering past
Oppressive silence I did touch
And even an idle glance would
Be asking too much
Chorus:
And onward sped the dusty train
On the iron rail of fear and pain
Where a final stop would be
No way out

Somewhere Was A Wife In Silence
The silence I keep
My suspicion I need
When feigned expressions I receive
Blind hate I deeply breathe
Paranoia inflames my heart
And it makes us drifting apart
About your honesty I want to hear
Your words of truth I awfully fear
It’s a wicked game that bothers
By that our love finally smothers
Paranoia inflames my heart
And it makes us drifting apart
We are a grotesque seed of lovers
Above us the loss of reality hovers
Paranoia inflames my heart
And it makes us drifting apart

The Whispering Woods

The Whispering Woods
Wild north winds blow through the alleyway
A young woman working there as every day
Withdrawn face, light and back-tied hair
In her red winter coat, the frost she does bear
Her amber eyes light up and watch him walking
Rushing away from the red brick houses's stalking
There is no lightness on the outskirts of town
Agony of fear and weariness weight him down
Far away from English red brick walls
He wants to be with her and calls
Into the whispering woods
Into the healing woods
